Friday nights and we’re sickened to the core
Drinking cheap liquor from the corner store
Are we just afraid of passing time
Everyday’s a mess it's all the same
Ears are ringing out trapped in cellophane
When will we start to feel alright
I wanna see you wear your heart on your sleeve
For once without deceit
Why can’t it be more
I’m tryna find my way out the door
Spent all of my pay cheque on a dress
Got so high I left it on a bench
Guess that I’m not going out tonight
Friday nights have made us such a fool
But I’d do anything to get my mind off you
There’s nothing left of me inside
I wanna see you wear your heart on your sleeve
For once without deceit
Why can’t it be more
I’m tryna find my way out the door
When will I get to where I wanna be seen
Still we're caught in between
Why can’t it be more
I’m tryna find my way out the door
No reasons left to stay anymore
Alvvays has always been great, but with this album they took it to the next level. Every one of these songs is lodged in my brain now, permanently (in a good way). s. moxley
Daily focus-training coupled with strong work ethics pointed toward making life more bearable for others, could turn around this age for the better. This album is beautiful. A force for good. CHOSEN
I think it's difficult to write songs about something other than romantic love, and still be able to communicate the intensity with which those feelings can hit a person. Some of the entries on this album are fantastic examples of this niche. dani_bloop
Market, from Melbourne, fuse soul and chillwave on a wonderfully woozy song with rubbery guitars & breathy harmonies. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 19, 2020
On their latest LP, the Austin group peel away the synth and distortion to highlight the jangly melodies at the core of their songs. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 9, 2022
An easy-to-love combination of emo and jangle pop, the first full album from Spirit Night in eight years feels bathed in a golden glow. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 8, 2023
